How the funnel works
- The bait. A fresh-looking AfterHour profile posts winning trades. Its bio β or the link
behind the profile's link icon β points to a Telegram channel: "free alerts," "VIP signals," "100% free to join."
- The free channel. You join. Signals, profit screenshots, hype. Admins feel like mentors.
Everything is free⦠for now.
- The upsell. "VIP" access, "copy trading," "managed accounts," or a "challenge" ($1k β $10k).
This is where money changes hands.
- The vanish. Deposits go in. Withdrawals never come out. The channel rebrands or the
admin ghosts. The AfterHour account that recruited you quietly goes dormant β or a twin appears.
Red flags
- Guaranteed returns or win rates β "80% win rate signals," "$1k to $100k challenge." Real trading has no guarantees.
- Private invite links (t.me/+β¦) shared across multiple "unrelated" accounts β a coordination fingerprint.
- Burner profiles β days or weeks old, a handful of posts, private financial data, pushing one link.
- Identical channel descriptions across supposedly independent groups β copy-paste operation.
- Pressure to move off-platform fast β "everything happens on Telegram, join below."
- Managed accounts / deposit-to-start β anyone asking you to send crypto or wire money to "trade for you" is the end of the funnel.
